Obituary for Jacques Joliat

Jacques Joliat
JOLIAT, Jacques “Papa Jack” (Sir Knight Assembly Mg. Adolphe Proulx)
The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Friday, June 14, 2019 at the age of 84 years. Beloved husband of 60 years to Florence (née Bigras) Joliat of Chelmsford. Son of the late Adrien and Pomela (née Mainville) Joliat. Loving father of Jean-Marc “JJ” (Sharon), Gilles (Lynn), Pierre, and Jocelyn “Joe” (Denise). Dear brother of Marcel (Cécile) (late Hélène). Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Hortense Labine (late Robert), Gérard (late Rolande), Roger (late Rollande), Réjeanne Portelance (late Claude), Richard (Connie) (late Julienne), Claire Blais (late Omer) and Anne-Marie Miron (late Jean-Paul). Cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Philip, Kevin, Michelle, Jessica, Josée, Janelle, Sarah, Joël, and Natalie, and great-grandfather of Kiera, Emily, Jacques, Georgia, Kayla, Liliane, Oscar, Molly, and Spencer. Predeceased by his granddaughter Charlize. Jacques was a 3rd degree member of the Chevaliers de Colomb, Council 6258, and 4th degree knight Mgr. Adolphe Proulx Assembly. He worked at Falconbridge for 35 years. He and Flo spent as much time as they could with friends and family at their beloved Geneva Lake. Papa Jack was an avid hunter - including a successful bull moose hunt at the age of 82 - and he will surely be missed at the Labour Day fishing trip with his sons, nephews, and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691 RR 15, Chelmsford, Monday June 17th, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday June 18th, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St-Joseph Church, Chelmsford. Donations to NEO Kids Foundation can be made by cheque or online. Special thanks to Doris S. of Bayshore for your compassionate care of Papa Jack; and extra special thanks to those who made sure Flo was able to spend time with him during his hospital stays - too many people to name. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
