The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband of Claire (née Hélie) Charette and of the late Carmen (née Leclerc ). Son of the late Edouard and the late Adèle Charette. Loving father of Richard (Diane) and step-father of Yves Genesse (Debbie), Jean Genesse (Kathy), Yvan Genesse, Nynon Genesse (late Jon Smagac), Nicole Genesse and Nancy Genesse. Cherished grandfather of Makala, Dylan, Lisa, Joey, step-grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of one. Dear brother of Frank Charette (Claudette). Predeceased by his siblings Emanuel Charette (late Irene), Hervey Charette (late Nora), Cecile Rattwel and Alice Vallière. Maurice was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree, council 10602, Val Thérèse and 4th degree, Assembly 3156. He was also a proud member of the choir at Paroisse Ste-Marguerite d’Youville. Amongst his many passions, he loved golf, taking walks, dancing, listening to music but will forever be remembered as a skilled woodworker, who created countless works of art that he would share with family and friends. In his younger days, he enjoyed camping and canoeing. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St-Joseph St., Hanmer, Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Thérèse. Masses (by cheque only) to Ste-Marguerite d`Youville Parish are greatly appreciated.
