Obituary for Jeannine Prévost (née Durette)

Jeannine Prévost (née Durette)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jeannine Prévost at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, Ontario on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 91 years of age. Jeannine was born on August 10th, 1930 in Dalton, Ontario and as a young girl moved to Noëlville, Ontario where she met her future husband Roger Prévost. They were married in 1947 in Noëlville where their first son was born and then moved to the Sudbury area where five more children were added to the family. For many years they made MacFarlane Lake their home. In 1979, they moved back to Noëlville where Jeannine continued her passion and talent for sewing, gardening and baking. Whether golfing, skiing or fundraising for various causes, Jeannine was known for her active lifestyle and her community involvement. Jeannine and Roger returned to Sudbury in 2013 where they became members of the Red Oak Villa family.
Jeannine was at her happiest when surrounded by her family. She is survived by her beloved husband Roger. They were one month shy of their 75th wedding anniversary. Jeannine will greatly be missed by her six children: Guy (Denise), Paulette (Yves), Pauline (Art), Marc (Claudette), Francine (Ken) and Jacqueline (Tom). She was the proud mémère of 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Jeannine was sister to Laurette Prévost, Rollande Dupuis, Richard Durette, Raymond Durette, Diane Brazeau, Robert Durette and Noella Mazick. Predeceased by her brothers Jean-Paul Durette, Lucien Durette, Gabriel Durette, Fernand Durette and her sister Fernande Jank.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the Red Oak Villa for their devotion and compassion towards Jeannine, especially during the past year. Donations in Jeannine’s memory can be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Funeral Mass to be held at Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church, Sudbury, Ontario on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10 a.m. Due to many immunocompromised relatives, masks are highly encouraged. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
