Obituary for Michel "Jinks" DesOrmeaux

Michel "Jinks" DesOrmeaux
DESORMEAUX, Michel “Jinks”
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Michel “Jinks” DesOrmeaux at the age of 69 years, at Maison McCulloch Hospice, surrounded by his loving family, November 18th, 2019 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Sturgeon Falls on September 13, 1950 to the late Paul DesOrmeaux and is survived by his mother Lucille (late Arthur) of Sturgeon Falls. Loving husband of 46 years to Lise (née Boutin) of Chelmsford. Beloved father to Michele Perreault (Eric) of Hanmer and Nataly DesOrmeaux-Tonin (Tim) of Chelmsford. He was a very proud “pépère” to Alex and Noah Perreault and to Kendra, Karissa and Kayden Tonin. Cherished brother to Claude (late Huguette), Gisele, Pierre, Luc (Denise) all of Sturgeon Falls, Denis of Whitby and Lucien (Violetta) of Gravenhurst. He will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews and family members. Jinks retired from Inco as an electrician in 2000. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his summers with his wife at their trailer on Manitoulin Island. He will be dearly missed at the “happy hour” by his special friends. Jinks had a love for hockey, especially his Montreal Canadians. He volunteered for many years as a hockey trainer for the Rayside Balfour Sabercats and the AAA Midgets as well as being implicated as a scouts leader and commissioner. Jinks was at his happiest when he cheered on his grandsons playing hockey. The family would like to say a thank you to all the wonderful nurses, PSW’s and doctors at Health Sciences North palliative care department, and also a heartwarming thank you to all the remarkable nurses, PSW’s and volunteers at Maison McCulloch Hospice for the compassionate care received during this difficult time. The family would like to invite family and friends at the St-Joseph Parish, Chelmsford, Saturday, November 30th, 2019 at 10 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
