Throughout her 40 year career in teaching, Rachel has undeniably changed, influenced and touched the lives of countless students. She was a benevolent, passionate professor who was truly concerned about her students’ learning and was devoted to the delivery of high quality education. Rachel was greatly respected in her professional workplace by her peers and administrators, and was recognized as a role model in her field.
Following a well-deserved retirement in June of 1985, Rachel continued to be involved in the community by doing volunteer work at Laurentian Hospital for several years and also volunteered many hours at Paroisse St-Dominique.
Family will remember Rachel’s unconditional love and appreciation for each member’s individuality. She shared a special bond with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rachel was attentive, understanding, wise and generous with her time.
She was a creative individual and demonstrated several artistic talents, painting, knitting, sewing just to name a few. She was a ‘cuisinière par excellence’. She loved reading, playing cards and spending time at the cottage in Verner.
The family will keep fond memories of Rachel as a beautiful, elegant and chic lady, warm and welcoming even in the final days of her life despite her health challenges. She was truly a role model for her family and leaves a great void.
The family would like to thank Dr. Holub and the devoted staff at Pioneer Manor on the Tulip Unit for their excellent care.
