Obituary for Lila Marie Albertine Lefebvre

Lila Marie Albertine Lefebvre
November 19, 1928 - March 25, 2019

Predeceased by Arthur (husband), Osias and Valentine Lapensee (parents). Brothers Royal (Verlie), Phil (Jeanette) deceased; Marguerite (sister-in-law). Children Stella (Ron), Francois (Yvonne) and Denis (Donna). Grandchildren Michel (Cassandra), Lise (Rod), Kim (Grant), Alburt (Ashley), Murray (Carolina), Dean (Lindsay) and James. Great-grandchildren Brianna, Kaylin, Makayla, Kataya, Elyse, Ayla, Liam, Maya and beloved fur baby Boots (cat). She was a special Lady, loved by so many. No one called her by her given name...she was everyone’s “Memere”.

She was a master of cooking, baking, decorating, gardening, crocheting, sewing, card playing and unconditional love. Many can thank her for every fancy platter or delicious dish that has been enjoyed over the years.

She gave her time tirelessly crocheting outfits for premature babies in hospital, blankets for senior residences and the cancer patient unit. Every family member enjoys their own made to order blankets.

She quickly learned how to use her IPad and loved keeping in touch with family and friends on Facebook. Once she discovered Poker Stars there was no turning back!

When playing Queen of Spades, she would fondly remember her own mother, Valentine, and say “You know, there’s no friends in cards” while trying her best to look as serious as possible. This would always result in her opponents having a good laugh. Memere trying to look stern was great comedy.

Thank you to our dear Memere for all the wonderful memories. Her smile was made of sunshine and her heart was made of Gold.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her palliative care nurses and all the doctors.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Monday, April 1, 2019 from 12 to 4 p.m. followed by a service in the Chapel at 4 p.m. A burial will take place on June 1st, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the St-Charles Cemetery.
