Obituary for Aurel Lavoie

Aurel Lavoie
Passed away peacefully at home with his wife and son André by his side, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the age of 80 years. Son of the late Samuel and the late Laura (née Mailloux) Lavoie. Beloved husband of 34 years to Jeannine (née Gravel) Lavoie of Wahnapitae. Loving father of André Lavoie of Barrie, Marcel Lavoie of Ottawa, Lise Duthie (Dannie) of London and Claude Toupin (Stacey) of Surrey, B.C. Dear brother of George, Omer and Lucille St-Martin (Richard). Cherished grandfather of Riley Lavoie of Toronto and George Létourneau (Emma) of Nanaimo, B.C. Aurel was looking forward to meeting his first great-granddaughter, who is expected in August. He will be sadly missed by his dear friend Paul Létourneau of Timmins and lovingly remembered by his in-laws, Suzanne (Michel) of Alberta, Jean Desjardins (late Rita) of Sudbury and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Aurel was an avid fisherman and hunter who had a passion for the outdoors, but was happiest when surrounded by his family. The family wishes to thank the nurses from Bayshore and the Cancer Centre for their kind and compassionate care. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A family service will be held in Earlton at a later date. Donations (by cheque or online) to Northern Cancer Foundation will be appreciated. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca.
